The Hogle Zoo

Last Saturday we headed up to Salt Lake to go to the Zoo with our good friends, The Fisher’s.  They brought some fun friends and family with them too, and it was a lovely event.  All week I was telling Steven we were going to the zoo on Saturday, and he kept saying “I don’t wanna go to the zoo!”  Then I told him mommy, daddy, and Lillie were going to the zoo, and he replied “I wanna stay in the car.”  Much to his dismay, we made him go to the zoo anyway.  And yet, he absolutely LOVED it!  We weren’t surprised that he kept begging to go back to the zoo while we were driving home.

I told everyone to act like animals.  This may be one of the only pictures I have of Todd actually smiling normally……

Some bowling, and my funny kids…

A couple of weeks ago we went bowling with Darrell’s brothers, sister, sister-in-law and nephews.  Steven loves a good chance to have some fun, and of course, beat his mom…:)

And, as it always goes, if I try to take pictures of Lillie, Steven has to jump in as well :)  I really don’t mind though.  I get to continually look at these fun memories :)

Six months already! I really cannot believe it!

This beautiful little girl is six months old today. CRAZY!! She is so much fun, and loves to jabber, smile, and blow raspberries.

At her six months check up yesterday, her stats came in at:

16 lbs. 12 oz – 69th percentile

25.5 inches – 43rd percentile

I was totally bummed that her hair turned out so funky with the pictures in her tu-tu. I wish I could’ve known they looked that awful and I would’ve combed them!! Oh well, in honor of my favorite holiday being the 4th of July, those pictures turned out fabulously!

4th of July!!

I absolutely love the 4th of July, and yes, the Richfield 4th of July is one of my favorite celebrations.   I am pretty sure Darrell has winced inside his brain because they’re not that exciting to him, but he loves me, and always tags along for the fun!!  This year, we headed down on Friday night and were there until Monday with the 4th being a Sunday.  We got to spend time with most of my family (minus the fabulous ones who were taking care of newborn twins in St. George) and it was so fun!  We also were able to squeeze in visiting a few people and attending my 5 year class reunion (yes, I am young) as well.  Also, I was able to run the Liberty 5K with one of my best friends, Kacey Chidester.  Technically, I only ran half of it with her. At about the half way mark, I had an extreme pain in my rib, so I had to walk for about 45 seconds. (I’m guessing here, cause that’s how much faster she completed the race than me. Haha)

Here is a little glimpse into our weekend..

This is the best picture we got in my desire for the family photo this weekend. I love having a toddler :)

Sunday night we did sparklers and a few fireworks with the kids, since a lot of us had to leave Monday before the city fireworks.  Steven was a little unsure of the sparkler at first, but then thought it was pretty cool. DSCF4878

I saw this fantastic idea on one of my friend’s blogs last year, and had to try it with my neieces and nephews.  They now officially think I have the coolest camera in the world :)

A little bit of this, a little bit of that (a pot, a pan, a broom a hat…)

Lillie turned 5 months old on the 13th!! We got to take her out of her harness on the 10th of June, and she was definitely happy! Within an hour of taking the harness off, she rolled over from back to front for the first time, and has just been a wiggling and starting to move around little bits at a time.  On the fabulous 5 month birthday, she said “mama” while we were in church. So cute!  She is a joy, and is so much fun. Loves to jabber, blow raspberries, and have lots of fun! We’ve also started giving her rice cereal, which she loves. Although, at times I think she loves more grabbing the spoon and chewing on it.  She loves loves loves her daddy, and always saves her best smiles for him!

Steven is a character, and makes life fun everyday.  He thinks he’s graduated from naps, so the days seem to drag sometimes, but some days we get lucky (like today) and he will actually take a nap, and there is much rejoicing!

Hawkslandapalooza!

Our sub-division, Hawks Landing, decided to start an annual tradition of Hawkslandapalooza! For a rootin' tootin' good time in the neighborhood. It was really fun, and they had lots of activities for the kids. Steven got to get a dinosaur painted on his face... Our family became a herd of animals...
And Steven even got a balloon that looks like a Fishy. (and made a great hat as well!) Overall it was a great time!
And to finish off, I just wanted to post a couple pictures from Friday - when I was able to attend my cousin, Marisha's, wedding in Manti. All of the Farnsworth's that were there headed to the Manti Cemetery after the wedding to see where Great-Great Grandpa Moses Franklin Farnsworth was buried. The view of the temple from the cemetery was AMAZING!And Steven kept begging to get a picture by the temple, but then wouldn't look at the camera.

Memorial Day

We started Memorial Day off this year by heading over to Deseret to visit with my Grandma Rowley and visit graves over there and in Hinckley. We realized we hadn't seen my Grandma since Steven was 3 months old, so this trip was LONG overdue! We even discovered Darrell's great-great grandparents are buried in the same cemetery as my Grandpa Rowley
Steven, Lillie, and me with Grandma Lillie meeting Great-Grandma Rowley The heat wore Lillie out. Thank goodness for Aunt Jeanette!
